disgust

Am I the only one who feels that our media should actually take some blame for the degradation of America? I see that Saw III will for the second week in a row be the top movie in America. Why is sadism and human suffering even remotely entertaining? Besides movies, I was not happy reading this issue of Rolling Stone and seeing Gangsta Rap dominating the charts. It does not take any skill to rap about smokin' blunts, smackin your ho's, and spending G's. Not only does this "music" promote incredibly harmful racism, it promotes domestic violence. The rap videos portray women as little more than pieces of meat for 15 year old suburn white kids to salivate over. I'm sick of it. There is so much beautiful rap music out there that is completely over shadowed by disgusting crap. I'm fairly libertarian about government censorship because I feel that real change will not come from big government and shady politicians. The people must stop buying the CD's, stop watching BET, and demand change from the media. I'm not some Jerry Fallwell, 1950's geezer telling you that Elvis will corrupt your minds, I'm just saying I am tired of being disgusted on TV.
