Guess who has a case of the Monday's?
I can't believe the weekend went by so quickly. I had a great time watching movies, drinking small bottles of alchohol, with Andrew, Jim, and the Colorado girls on Friday. I saw two movies, my cousin Vinny, a comedic classic, and the movie 23. When we first rented 23 I was not pleased but as the movie progressed, it became more then just watchable. I will give the movie a solid B. It was choppy and hard to follow at times but also enjoyable. Here is what else I think I think:
1. I went to eat at a restaurant in Minneapolis called 20:21. It is an expensive Asian Restaurant but I had the best pot-stickers as an appetizer I have ever had and the best Lamb Chops I have ever had. Total bill for two people including tax and tip... $55.00.
2. You know how every single airport has a three digit code? The code for the Sioux City, Iowa airport is: SUX. That made me chortle.
3. I just finished watching Season III of Entourage. I wish this wasn't on HBO. It is a really good show.
4. I'm not happy the Red Sox swept the Rockies. I'm also tired of all Chicago Cubs fans saying, "I'm a Red Sox fan. They've always been my American League team." Bull shit. The Red Sox are not lovable losers. They are corporate, fat cats, with as big of wallets as George Steinbrenner. Plus, they have won two of the past four world series.
5. I have been perusing the new Eric Clapton autobiography. It is excellent. It is not the usual rock star's autobiography with boasting of female conquests, excessive drug use, et cetera. Clapton actually explains in detail the ins and outs of what a professional musician's life is like.
6. May I be the first to say that Arnold Schwarzanegger is a Republican but he is also a fantastic governor. I never would have believed it. He has: $222.6 billion in public works improvements over 20 years, to be paid partly by $68 billion in new general obligation bonds-- 550 miles of new carpool lanes, 750 new highway miles, 600 miles of new commuter rail lines and 8,500 of bicycle and pedestrian paths -- $26.3 billion for new charter and technical schools, 2,000 new smaller public schools, and modernization of 140,000 classrooms -- Two new prisons -- A new crime lab -- Repair and reconstruction of California's aging infrastructure, including ports, dams, power plants, levees, bridges, prisons, mental hospitals, parks and the state's 50,000 miles of freeways. He has done all of this while not raising taxes and he has cleaned up for Governor Grey Davis's financial mess, California is leading the charge to fight global warming, he has raised the minimum wage by $1.00 an hour over what it used to be, his chief of staff is a lesbian. He is the best Republican I have ever seen! Let's hope if Mitt Romney becomes president, he will follow Arnold's lead.
